The Studio:
Welcome to the Pepper Pot Pottery. Based on the edge of the eclectic Kemptown district of Brighton, since 2022. Home to eight potters who’s work is as distinctive as it is mind-blowing, ranging from Hand building to Throwing and in between.
Here at the Pepper Pot we offer the opportunity to be part of this thriving community. Either as a studio member in our three weekly drop in creative sessions or as a Artist in Residence who call the studio a home!
Studio Membership:
Have you recently fallen in love with the world of pottery and are ready to delve into the creative world of clay? The Pepper Pot Pottery is for you! For the pottery enthusiast or experienced ceramicist, we offer our Studio Membership.
For those with prior pottery studio experience, this is the perfect opportunity to build on your current skill set! As a studio member, you will have access to our three weekly creative workshop sessions, on: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Between 2pm - 5pm.
From which you will have unlimited access to the studio, facilities and materials to delve into the thrilling world of pottery, to discover the bondless opportunities and projects that can be explored through clay.
Cost: £100 per month.
Which Includes: 12hrs a month access to the studio (£8.30 per hour). Unlimited access to tools, equipment for throwing or hand building and unlimited use of our studio glazes. Designated Shelf Storage Area to store your own work. As well as access to your clay of choice between Buff Stoneware and White St Thomas, for an additional cost of £15 per 12.5kg bag or £7 per 12.5kg of reclaim
Please Note: there is an additional bisque and glaze firing cost for all work produced during your creative sessions with us here. which are Subject to our Studio kiln Rates. 
Artist In Residence:
Here at the Pepper Pot Pottery, we offer our ever popular Artist in Residence programme! We provide the opportunity for seven artists/makers to call the studio home. Who pay a set monthly rate and in return, receive 24hr access to their own designated 4ft or 6ft workbench, as well as a wealth of storage. Which includes - several wall shelves and a free standing 3ft/6ft shelving unit. Alongside, a welcoming community atmosphere, with a kitchenette to make the studio feel right at home no matter the time of day. Along with four socials a year providing heart to the home.
For our AIR’s we are excited to also welcome them to exhibit at the studio, as part of the Brighton Artist Open Houses scene each year.
Cost: £135 - £160 per month.
Which includes: A designated 4ft/6ft desk, storage - wall shelves and a free standing shelving unit. Access to a 45L Kiln to bisque and glaze fire your own work, which you will inducted into, which comes with an additional charge per firing.
Please note: Due to the variety, range and style of work produced. each AIR, must provide their own materials e.g. clay, glaze, plaster etc. As well as their own tools and equipment. However excitingly there is space in each designated studio area for a throwing wheel, for the next up and coming Florian Gadsby!
